The choice of the best somatotype for a given sport using factor analysis
Bušík, Peter ; Fusek, Michal (referee) ; Michálek, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with factor model, which is used for data reduction. The purpose is to find unobservable common factors, by which we are able to simply describe observed data. The thesis presents an estimation for parameters of factor analysis by the principal component method, a factor rotation by the varimax method and a way of estimating factor scores by the regression method. Using the computing programme STATISTICA, we apply the factor analysis on the data set, obtained in Korfball. Based on the results, we try to determine the best somatotype for players of this sport.
Evaluation of the Business Financial Situation and Proposals to its Improvement
Botosová, Kristýna ; Doubravský, Karel (referee) ; Jakubcová, Marie (advisor)
This master’s thesis is focused on an evaluation of certain financial situation. In the first part theoretical methods used in the financial analysis are described. The second part consists of a presentation of the company, its field of activity and developed financial analysis. Measures leading to an improvement of company’s economy are presented in the last part of this thesis.
Statistical Modelling of Air Pollution by Dust Aerosol
Čampulová, Martina ; Karpíšek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Michálek, Jaroslav (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with multivariate statistical methods and their environmental applications. The theoretical part is devoted to selected methods of linear regression analysis, method of principal components and the model of classical and robust factor analysis is also described. In the practical part of thesis, the main emission sources of PM1 aerosols in summer and winter period in Brno and Šlapanice are determined by using the classical factor analysis. The main aerosol emission sources in summer and winter in Šlapanice are also identified by using the robust factor analysis. Furthermore, the prediction of concentrations of PM1 aerosols in summer and winter period in Brno and Šlapanice is performed by using the linear regression model.
Characterization of VTR-7000 deposition furnace
Petrová, Lenka ; Ulrych, Jan (referee) ; Semiconductor, Vlastimil Hanáček, ON (advisor)
Dimensionality reduction of statistical dataset
Sabo, Adam ; Kosová, Petra (referee) ; Hrabec, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis introduces methods which are used to reduce dimensionality and their subsequent application to selected sets of sports statistical data. The first part of the thesis deals with the theoretical apparatus of mathematical statistics, in particular with the Principal Component Analysis and its alternative - the Factor Analysis. The second part provides a brief explanation of the terms related to the selected sets of football statistics where these methods are applied. The third part introduces the results of the application of both methods to statistical files. Data obtained through calculations performed in Python programming language are organized and interpreted by means of graphs and tables.
Evaluation of Company Performance
Hroník, Petr ; Hejduková, Amálie (referee) ; Režňáková, Mária (advisor)
The thesis was focused on the analysis and evaluation of the efficiency of the chosen company using data processed with financial and factor analysis. The improved results were due to their better predicative abilities compared to the determined values of a competing company.
Determination of Factors Affecting Wage Differentiation in the EU Countries
Kocurová, Tamara
This thesis aims to identify the determinants of wage differentiation in the EU countries using panel data analysis. The literature review provides an overview of the theoretical background of the topic, previous studies on wage differences, the current situation of wage differentiation in the European Union, and the potential determinants and consequences of wage differentiation. The analysis reveals that wages are influenced by various potential variables. However, the application of factor analysis led to the identification of significant factors, namely the economic strength of a country, the level of digitization and working conditions, investment, and the unemployment rate. These findings are consistent with the existing literature. The conclusion offers recommendations for increasing wages based on the research results.
Web App for Q-Sorting
Daněk, Tomáš ; Bartl, Vojtěch (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
The aim of my bachelor's thesis was to become familiar with the Q-methodology and create a web application for conducting research according to this method. The work includes a complete report on the technologies used and the overall implementation of the web application. I focused mainly on the user interface and ease of handling the application for the respondents. Thanks to this application, the client is able to carry out his own research and the respondents of the research are provided with user interface that is very intuitive and easy to use.
Empirické vyhodnocení efektů zavedení chatbotů v CS
Šlapal, Petr
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of introducing chatbot technology in the field of customer service. The first phase provides a general theoretical overview, defines the basic aspects of customer service, including its development, which freely passes into a detailed description of the nature of chatbot technology. In the second phase, after mapping the current conditions in the world and in the Czech Republic, primary data are collected, by using quantitative and qualitative research. The acquired knowledge is then analysed by basic and advanced meth-ods of statistical analysis (factor analysis), resulting in identification of key factors in the implementation of chatbot technology. The final recommendations for in-terested commercial entities are based on the findings of the whole work.
Volunteering of seniors
Švihová, Jitka ; Frič, Pavol (advisor) ; Pospíšilová, Tereza (referee)
The thesis examines the volunteer activities of seniors. It focuses on the intensity and nature of senior volunteering. In the theoretical part, it defines related concepts such as formal and informal volunteering, old age, and outlines life course theory. The thesis examines senior volunteering in the context of life course theory. The empirical part works with secondary factor analysis of quantitative data conducted against the background of life course theory. The aim of the thesis is to offer answers to research questions concerning the intensity and nature of senior volunteering and thus provide insights into current senior volunteering in the Czech Republic.
